Citizens of Japan in various parts of the island country were impacted by a severe earthquake and tsunami disaster that destroyed lots of homes, businesses, and even worse, took the lives of many who lived there. The earthquake, marked as a 9.0 magnitude quake, did severe damage to the city of Sendai, as well as other areas and prefectures in the vicinity. The quake also caused a major tsunami disaster which was somewhat reminiscent of the destruction that came about with the tsunami tragedy that occurred in 2004.
