Electronic Music Is Much Bigger Than Some Think! Read Why

THURSDAY, MAY 24, 2012

When one thinks of electronic music, the thought that probably comes to mind is the scene of a night club and some rhythmic, catchy dance vibe just taking over the club.  Outside of that, not many people probably gave much thought to electronic dance music at all.  But over the years, it has really become much bigger and more intense than some may think or even give it credit for.  And recently, it's growing to even stronger heights than ever imagined!

The vibe of electronic music has actually been around for quite some time, probably as far back as the early 70's when it of course was associated to that night club feel.  DJ's took the vibe of it and amplified it to make the crowds really feel the intensity of the music and want to groove and dance all night.  However, it never really got the publicity that other genres of music, like Rock n Roll, or Disco, or Hip Hop received over their growths.  However, there are a lot of songs out there that were probably influenced by electronic dance music, or EDM for short, than you may think.

In the late 70's, a producer named Giorgio Moroder worked with the legendary, late Donna Summer, and produced the song "I Feel Love" which geared on the feel of electronic music.  It actually became a dance hit and that helped push electronic dance music more into the limelight than it had been done previously.  As the 80's and 90's continued, EDM became even more prominent and more and more artists started to work with producers, wanting a song or two with that digital electronic feel to it!

In this day and age today, electronic dance music has also impacted the Hip Hop and R&B community, and more and more rappers and hip hop artists are looking to the feel of electronic music to bring that "feel good" music to their fans rather than the traditional old school ways of boom bap and lyrical content.  Artists such as Cypress Hill, Busta Rhymes, Ne-Yo, and others are looking more to the means of a "hip hop / EDM" fusion in some of their songs.  The Usher track "Climax" is a perfect example of electronic music being worked into R&B music, so as you can see, it's definitely making a major impact everywhere!  And let's face it, whether you like it or not, electronic music has a certain charisma and vibe about it that will get even the most stiff person wanting to dance.  EDM is here to stay!

If you're a fan of electronic dance music, or want to get a taste and understanding of it and the latest news and info, be sure to go to ElectronicDanceMusic.com and check out the latest news and more on EDM!  You'll enjoy the site if you're a fan of EDM, and if you're not, you may just find yourself becoming a fan of electronic music after you check out the website!
